I will be celebrating 34yrs of marriage on Sept 20th. I have 3 grown children,1 granddaughter 11 and a new grandson born July 19th. Besides cooking/baking, I love to sew and crochet, to name a few of my hobbies. I will be volunteering at my granddaughter's school this year.
My favorite things to cook
I like to try new recipes, especially for cookies and deserts. Meatloaf, manicotti(a favored)and enchiladas(a tradition in my family)are a hit with my family.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making enchiladas has been something the family makes together. They are made from scratch. It's like an assembly line. I blend the pods for the sauce, dip the tortillas, then lightly simmer in hot oil, they are then stuffed with hamburger and cheese or just cheese and onions. Someone prepares the Sopa which is served with this. It takes a while longer then most meals, but we enjoy doing this together.
My cooking triumphs
Leaning to make my mother in-laws recipes. Especially her Potato roll. An old German candy recipe made at Christmas.
My cooking tragedies
The ups and downs preparing the food my husband grew up with when we first got married.
