My Grandmother could make anything from nothing. She had a family of five and all of them survived two world wars.
My Mum learned her basic skills from her mum.
And I learned mine from my Mum :-)
Now I've passed them onto my Daughter.
My favorite things to cook
Asian stir fry's. Chilli, Risotto's, Fish & Chips with mushy peas, Clam Chowder, Home made Ice Creams, Banana Foster, salad Nicoise, Three Bean Salad, Cataplana, Strawberry Cheesecake, Chocolate Crunch with hot Custard, Spaghetti Bolognese and Primavera.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Grandmothers oven baked potato cakes.
My Mum's Yorkshire puddings and her Christmas dinners.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking dinner for 24 on two camping stoves (4 gas rings). Every evening on a three week camping tour of Morrocco. On the Atlantic beach, in the Sahara and half way up the Atlas mountains.
Starter, Main Course and Desert at every meal.
My cooking tragedies
Making an inedibly hot chilli for a dinner party :-) And then calling out for Pizza !!
