About this Cook
Hello! I'm a 26 year old newlywed and am currently trying to find my husband's favorite dishes within a tight budget. I LOVE to bake but sadly enough never really get to eat what I bake because I am allergic to wheat and yeast. I am currently experimenting with a gluten-free diet but my husband is not so fond of it! I'm trying to figure out how to make home made bread without a breadmaker so I can save money on my husband's lunches. My favorite meat to cook is chicken and although I do not like the nutrition value of pasta, I find it to be the easiest to cook! :)
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking chicken and vegetables and am constantly looking for a way to spice this basic menu up! I love making breads and baking although baking doesn't fit with my current gluten-free lifestyle.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every Christmas my mother makes cookies. All kinds. When my family would take out the Christmas tree to decorage it, she would make these fabulous gingersnaps. Every Thanksgiving, I INSIST that we have green bean casserole and every Easter we have a big meal as well. I hope to make fun-filled traditions like that with my kids!
My cooking triumphs
The first time I made creme brulee (sp?) and it turned out great! Anytime I cook something for the first time and it turns out good, I consider it a triumph! Every time I cook a meal for my husband's friends and they like it, it is a triumph!
My cooking tragedies
I tried to make buttercream icing with margarine. EWWWW!!! gross!

Pollo Mediterranean
This was delicious! I didn't know how much milk to add so I just poured a little in. I didn't add the olives and added 1/2 a cup of sun-dried tomatoes instead of 1/4 a cup. I served the chicken and sauce over bow-tie pasta and it was delicious! Thanks for a great recipe! Will def. use again!
