I am a student with a passion for good food. For me cooking is about affordability, clean tastes and no fuss without compromising the flavours of any dish.
I have been cooking since I was old enough to peel vegetables and there is no other sense of satifaction greater than seeing people enjoy the food you have produced in your kitchen!
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking Italian food, in partiular pastas and pork recipes, Traditional british food and most recently Asian inspired recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family of avid home cooks and I have numerous recipe books handed down to me from my granmother, which are always a delight to cook. In my family Christmas is the biggest cooking event of the year, and we dig out all our home grown recipes which get cooked by my father, that is my favourite family cooking event, I love the bustle and smells coming from the kitchen!
My cooking triumphs
My vegetarian aubergine and tomato gratin was my first big cooking truimph, it took weeks of ajusting and experimenting to get it just right, mostly because the aubergines were tricky to drain without turning brown!
I consider my most recent triuphs to be my version of Thai chicken curry with noddles, the right amount of curry and salt was hard to get and it took a few disasters before I got a result I liked.
My favourite dish to date is my Italian inspired pork loin with fettucine, it is delicious!
My cooking tragedies
Delia Smith´s recipe for Carbonara sauce is my biggest to date, it was dreadfull and had the most appaling consistency, it reminded me of eating the curds from cottage cheese. It was revolting, not to mention embarassing!
