About this Cook
I was born and raised on the beautiful caribbean island of Trinidad (as in Trinidad & Tobago). I moved to NY at the age of 17 to go to college and just before I started college, I got my first job; in a restaurant! I have always loved cooking and baking, but that is when I realized it was my true passion.
My favorite things to cook
Any dessert! I LOVE to bake... mostly for others, but I just love creating yummy desserts! I like trying new things in the kitchen.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas time, we make a HUGE meal at my house. Lots and lots of food, fun to cook AND eat!
My cooking triumphs
Scrumptious pumpkin cheesecake at the age of 17 :D
My cooking tragedies
Anything made without love.

Saltine Toffee Cookies
YUM!!!!! These were sooo easy and they tasted AMAZING! I had a toffee cookie from a gift basket and I HAD to try to recreate it... I only had graham crackers, white sugar and walnuts, so I substituted those for the saltines, brown sugar and pecans. It worked out fine; I actually think the graham crackers worked better than the saltines would have. Next time I will try making these without the chocolate because the toffee itself is yum on it's own!

Chocolate Cakes with Liquid Centers
This was amazing! I doubled the recipe because I knew 4 would not be enough for my family. Instead of using 2 egg yolks per batch, I just used one; next time I might even try eliminating the egg yolks altogether and just use 2 whole eggs. Very easy and very delicious! I made them as a request from my mom and she loved it!

Pastry Cream
Very easy pastry cream! I have tried many different ones and this is definitely the easiest one, without sacrificing flavor. I divided the recipe by 3 because I was mixing it with whipped cream for a crepe cake; and it worked out just fine.
