I'm quirky, a little opinionated, and I have a silly sense of humor. I also have fibromyalgia. I am such a foodie. I guess it’s the French in me. I love cheese, potatoes, pizza, bread, coffee, olives, strawberries, broccoli ... actually almost all veggies and fruits. I love exotic and spicy foods. I love to cook. My mom has a picture of me cooking at about 18 months old. I'm far from an expert but plenty of things I try turn out well. I don't consider myself to be picky, but I don't like ketchup, hot dogs, "cheese" in plastic packets, and white bread. I like to avoid preservatives and fillers, and buy organic stuff. And make green choices about everything. Do I succeed? Hmmm, jury's still out on that. :-) I love clothes. I love things that are unique or vintae, and I like timeless over trendy. I love music. I'm not a pro, but I'm not just a radio listener. Music has been a part of my life almost as long as food. And we’re back to food. :-)
My favorite things to cook
I don't know if I have one favorite of anything. I don't mind stirring a pot for hours. I love making things for other people. So I usually end up cooking in large quantities.
I feel like I have more control of things on the top of the stove than the things in the oven. I can't make the oven heat correctly, but I can turn "low" up if it's not right.
My cooking triumphs
Lasagna. Fish tacos with slaw. Quesadillas. Pasta with cheese or alfredo sauce. Crepes. Snowball cookies. Guacamole.
My cooking tragedies
It takes me a long time to chop. I have small hands and a bad grip.
I've burnt things, broken endless yolks of eggs, over seasoned ... But let's not focus on that. :-)
