I am retired. After my wife passed away, I moved to Idaho with my son to be near my daughter and her family. I am just learning to cook and like to try different recipes; but, nothing too complicated. Enjoy baking breads, cooking in the slow cooker, baking different meat dishes, and trying different ingredients for recipes. I like to bake fresh loaves of bread, though most of the time it's frozen loaves that I let thaw and rise. I bake biscuits and cobblers from scratch. I enjoy baking cakes, brownies, etc. I like to prepare chicken fried steak; but, have to watch my saturated fat intake. I also, love to make pizzas from scratch and salads. The chicken fried steak with brown gravy or white gravy, baked french fries, or mashed potatoes are really liked here; also, salads such as potato, green pea, tuna and pasta, chicken and pasta, and homemade pizzas. I found a recipe for a pizza crust that I really like! After tinkering with a recipe that I was given by a cousin, I have got it just the way that I like: YEASTY!! I have eaten some tuna casserols that were really tasty. I tried to make one from scratch with no recipe and it was SO dry that not much was eaten. I got too much flour in it.
