I'm a young charismatic cook who is recovering from a 5 year long eating disorder. I have a passion for life and never let the small "oopsy's" bring me down. My love for cooking comes from my dad who loves to create new things in the kitchen. He's also one of my best friends =] My other best friend is the love of my life, Justin, who supports me in anything i do and always makes sure to be my tester in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Italian foods of all kinds. Ive had a few love/hate relationships with some Fettuccine Alfredo recipes on here but i finally found one that fits my taste just perfect (Quick and easy Alfredo sauce from this site).I'm also just in love with baking. On a free day, i can cook all day long. Any left overs my family leaves, i baggy them up and take them to my sister or dad. I'm more of a late night, spurt moment baker but I've had very few recipes that haven't been up to my standards. Some of my favorite recipes from this site are: Banana cream pie 1, Janet's Rich Banana Bread, Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread, Best Chocolate Chip Cookies, One Bowl Brownies, Clone of a Cinnabon, Good Old Fashioned Pancakes, Golden Potato Soup, Blueberry Buckle, Apple bread, Lasagna Roll-ups, The Best Potato Salad, No Bake Cookies V, Sophie's Zucchini Bread, and (last but not least) Kraut Beirocks. Believe it or not, on average, i make all of these things at least once a week.
My cooking triumphs
This could take all day =] I'm the master baker of the house hold so I make dozens and dozens of cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, muffins, cupcakes, etc, etc. I'm also great at whipping up great hearty dinners with few ingredients and limited time. I have an extreme passion for trying out new stuff and mastering recipes.
My cooking tragedies
Cheesecake. I'm a big fan of The Golden Girls and since they are the cheesecake connoisseurs, i figured it would be fun for me to make one. It always looked easy to me (even though i knew there was an art to it) and i have proven to be a darn good baker so I tried a recipe that had 5 stars and was supposed to be a "cheesecake for idiots" recipe. It turned out to be a disaster. I made 4 cheesecakes without a spring-form pan and they over rose and got ALL OVER the oven. It was a huge smoky mess plus i had spent $30 for all the stuff that went in to it. That was about 6 months ago and i haven't tried or wanted to make any kind of cheesecake since. I have since recovered from the incident and have finally found a cheesecake i actually wanna give a try. Its the Autumn Cheesecake on this site and it looks great. I figure i will give it a shot in the Fall months. Keep me in your prayers.
