About this Cook
I'm in college and I like to find recipes that are simple and easy since I don't really trust cooking by other people my age. I come from a fairly large family and have been cooking since I was old enough to understand a recipe. I'm not really a perfectionist in the kitchen, but things usually turn out all right for me.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that requires baking.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Tough Dumplings. Not really a tradition, but I don't know anyone else who makes these. The recipe came from my mother's aunt and now my mom makes them from memory. There is no written recipe anymore, but I will try to get it off of her and onto paper again soon.
My cooking triumphs
Learning to carry the timer around with me was a big one. I haven't burnt anything in quite a while.
My cooking tragedies
Well, there was one time that I was preheating the oven to make brownies, and I didn't get it lit right, (the stove is from the sixties and has been converted to propane although not well converted) and the door blew open along with the ball of burning gas when it finally lit the propane. It scared me to death and sent pieces of burning stuff everywhere in the kitchen.

The Mighty Chicken Stuff
This recipe was very good and almost everyone liked it. The only person who did not was my extremely picky younger brother who liked all of the ingredients (except the broccoli) but thought that it was "wrong to put them all together". The only complaint I have is how salty it was. I don't know if that's because I used all our leftover bags of chips that were never going to be eaten, or if it's supposed to be that way. But I used about half the recommended cheese in an effort to make up for the salt difference. I don't know, but it was excellent and I will definitely make it again!
