Caramel Filled Chocolate Cookies
This recipes turned out amazing!! I tripled the batch with no problems and there was a whole unit of happy Marines! I added toasted chopped almonds, and used caramels. They are amazing right out of the oven, as the caramel is warm and gooey, but it hardens up quite a bit when cooled. Turns into a caramel lump in the middle. I will try the rolos and peanut butter cups next time. They come out with the consistency of a brownie. I love them! I found the best way to avoid any leakage is to ensure theres no seams in the dough when you form aorund the caramel, and put cookie sheet in fridge for 5 minutes after you pull it out of the oven so the cool quick on the outside, and they slide off onto the cooling rack with ease, and there is no leakage
