About this Cook
I love being creative, and food is my newest medium. Also, Paul Robert's "The End of Food" has inspired me to become more involved in preparing my own meals as a grounding and liberating process. I love how food brings people together, and I chose to join allrecipes to hopefully give back to this community from which I have "borrowed" so many great recipes and tips from.
My favorite things to cook
Meals with fresh vegetables are my favorites to prepare. My favorite things to cook so far are sweet potato pie, collard greens, string beans, and lentil soup. Mac n cheese in my slow cooker is also easy and fun.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Caribbean food. Rice and peas, and coconut with everything.
My cooking triumphs
a sweet potato pie from scratch from allrecipes.com for an office party!
My cooking tragedies
none yet, and hopefully none soon!

Split Pea Soup with Rosemary
I also made this veggi style, minus the bacon and chicken broth. Instead I added extra onion and garlic. This was the perfect dish to make home while sick with the flu. It needed very little ingredients and was DELICIOUS. The rosemary added a great touch!

Sauteed String Beans
So easy to make yet absolutely delicious. I replaced the cocktail onions, with a quarter cup of white onions. Served over rice for a quick lunch. Loved it!
