About this Cook
I'm a retired mental health administrator and therapist. I raise and show Australian Shepherd dogs....My favorite occupation is enjoying my son and grandkids.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook, interesting flavors, new tastes and spicy foods are my favorites. I love to bake, as well, cookies, breads and pastries are top on my list.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I make a danish pastry Christmas Wreath every year. If I don't show up with it, they won't let me in the door.
My cooking triumphs
My pastry wreath is always a big hit.
My cooking tragedies
When I first learned to cook with garlic, I made a garlicky dish from a cookbook, but did something wrong. I served it to company. No one would eat it and were joking about how bad it was (I agreed, but didn't admit it). After dinner in the kitchen when I scooped some out to give to my dog, she tried to cover it up with the linoleum on the floor. I had to laugh and admit it WAS pretty BAD!!

Southwestern Turkey Soup
Just made this tonight with the modifications by the first reviewer. She should submit her own recipe....it was wonderful! I did modify with what was on hand....used northern beans, italian spiced tomatoes and less sour cream...but it was really really good!!
