About this Cook
I love Jesus. I love my Husband. I love my Family. I love my Friends. And...I love my Cat.
My favorite things to cook
Baking is actually my favorite. Cakes and cookies...
My favorite family cooking traditions
Baking traditions: Christmas morning, I used to get up early with my mom and make home made cinnimon rolls for breakfast. We would all sit at the tree and have our last advent while eating our breakfast, then give thanks, and move on to opening presents.
My cooking triumphs
I'll have to say that the Summer of 2008 was my most triumphant baking experience. My friend, Joy, and I had created a recipie for cookies that ended up being quite unique and delicious.
My cooking tragedies
Like many others, I have had my share of forgetting that something was on the stove or in the oven, and have had the smoke alarm kindly remind me to check up on it.

Miss Betty's Super Quick Dinner Rolls
This is a super quick recipe! I was very satisfied - even surprised - with the way they turned out. I've made them twice this week and both times, there were none left over. Everyone liked them. These are great for last-minute pull-togethers! They tasted much like plain white bread rolls, but had more of a biscuit texture, which means you can do so much with them. I would recommend, if you want to jazz them up to go along with a hardy dinner, to add some garlic salt and shredded cheese on the top before baking. Or if you're looking for something sweet, try sprinkling a cinnamon/sugar mixture over the top before baking. But by themselves, these rolls proved to be a great find! I'll be using them often. Thanks for sharing!

Grandma Ople's Apple Pie
When made with home-grown apples, this pie is even better! But store-bought apples still keep this pie on top of all others. Also, I use the "best ever pie crust" recipie one this site. I like to weave strips of crust over the top of the pie to give it a more classical look. Thank you, Grandma Ople! This will be a long-time favorite and passed down to my children...when I have them. =]
