I had gastric bypass in June of 2008. Previous to that, I ate fast food nearly every day and rarely cooked at home. When I did cook at home, I made burgers and macaroni and cheese, mostly. Since then, I have been trying a lot of new recipes. To my surprise, I'm actually not too bad of a cook!
My favorite things to cook
I guess my favorite thing to cook would have to be chicken or beef. I really enjoy grilling. I really just like to make comfort food as well.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't really know. I guess I like it how at Thanksgiving. My grandma makes the turkey and the rest of us each bring in a side dish to share.
My cooking triumphs
I made some country fried chicken (fried in canola oil, so it's not too unhealthy!) and wow, that is some good stuff!
My cooking tragedies
Pancakes. I have made good pancakes only ONCE! And trust me, I have tried making pancakes countless times. My sister, who is a really bad cook, can make delicious pancakes. Go figure.
