I am a student, recently moved from the UK to the US and am discovering a wealth of culinary differences between the two places! I love to bake cakes and cookies. I also like making pies and other British dishes. Since moving to the US I have been experimenting more with Mexican food, and as winter is approaching making soup too. My favorite main course is lasagna. My mum makes a great Mexican style lasagna with tortillas, which I enjoy making too, and she was the one who taught me to bake. My uncle is a very experimental cook, so I try and take after him that way, but I could never be as good! I recently started using pumpkin to cook with (not an ingredient I am familiar with really) and discovered a great pumpkin and chocolate chip cake - cake baking and traditional dishes tend to be my strong points. Things often go wrong when I am in the kitchen, but I don't think there have been very many tragedies per se....
