Spinach Salad With Berries and Curry Dressing

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2012
Really wonderful. Kept the dressing as written, but changed the salad to what I had on hand. Used pears instead of berries and added chicken breast and made the salad a meal, also didn't add onion since my husband does not like them.

Chicken Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2011
Pretty decent. I had lots of extra veggies in the fridge that I didn't want to go to waste so this was perfect. I used bean sprouts instead of celery, added mushrooms and red pepper. Left the sauce the same except I added 1/2 cup of water and some brown sugar.

Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

I would give this 3.5 if I could. It was good, but not something we loved. I found it was too much chili, next time I would cut it down to 1tbsp.

Greek Style Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
First off I followed the directions of another poster: The first thing I did was boil the potatoes in the chicken stock. Since some people commented that the potatoes were a little bland, I added a couple chunks of garlic to the stock. Between the stock and the garlic, I knew it would give the potatoes a great start. I cooked them until they were ALMOST done. Then I drained them and put them in a baking dish. In another bowl, I added the olive oil, (NO water!)zest of an entire big lemon after microwaving it for 30 seconds to make it juicier and all the contents of that lemon. I added fresh rosemary and thyme from my garden along with some Greek oregano and fresh ground black pepper and a little salt. I baked them uncovered for about half hour stirring them half way through and they were delicious! I also cooked them with baby carrots and they were perfect. The potatos came out crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside! Ate this with the grecian pork recipe from this site and it was a lovely dinner.

Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was really nice, I changed up the sauce a bit but the foundation of the recipe is good. My husband loved it and that is why I am giving it 5 stars. Since I have just moved (again) I had limited ingriedients so I cheated and used VJ's orange ginger stir fry sauce. I love that stuff, served with rice and broccoli.

Apple Chutney

A bit heavy on the ginger and vinegar. I had to add an extra 1/3 cup of brown sugar.

Red Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
Very good, did not add the sugar or the garlic powder but added extra garlic cloves to the water. Also only used 1/4 of butter, and skim milk instead of half and half. I would make these again.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
This was very good, I gave it 4 stars because I changed it from all wine to half wine and half chicken broth. I also used a gluten free packet of dry gravy! It was a super easy but very good Sunday night dinner!

Marinated Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2011
Very good! My husband said "you can make this again" as he was eating, so a winner in my books! The only change I made was I used a tawny port instead of Sherry since that is all I had, other than that kept it the same. Marinated overnight and the flavour was very nice.

Homemade Vanilla Pudding

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
This is good, I made a couple of changes. I only used 1/4 cup of sugar, added 1/2 tbsp more of vanilla. Topped it off with a little cinnamon and it is a nice change from the homemade chocolate pudding I make.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce with Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2010
This was beautiful. I loved both the meatballs and the sauce separately, but together, so very good! I made them gluten free because of a wheat allergy by making my own breadcrumbs with GF bread but other than that I kept everything else the same. Served it over rice noodles. Made meatball sandwiches the next day for my sister and her family and she asked for the recipe after her picky 4 year old gave it a thumbs up!

Garlic Prime Rib

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2010
Lovely, I made this for Christmas Eve dinner and everyone raved. I pulled the roast out at 145 and let it rest for 30 min and it was cooked perfectly. I was very nervous too since it was a $90.00 prime rib! Happy Christmas!

Sky High Yorkshire Pudding

Tough little hockey pucks. I was so disappointed. I served this last night at Christmas Eve dinner and I was embarrassed to bring these to the table. I followed directions completely, they didn't rise and were tough on the outside. I will NEVER make these again.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2010
Very good. I made a couple of changes: I added a couple of turns of grated nutmeg, omitted the salt, and used celery salt rather than seeds since that is what I had on hand. Also, since I had no pie crusts I served over egg noodles, but I contemplated using refrigerated biscuit dough. I also thought that adding a can of mushrooms would be very nice, maybe next time but a can of corn was very good. The other change I did was I poached the chicken and veggies (except onions) in the chicken broth and then added that to the onion mixture!Lastly, I added 2 tsp of garlic powder. I look forward to trying this as an actual pot pie!

Yogurt-Herb Salad Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
I used Greek non fat yogurt. The longer you let it sit in the fridge the better the flavour since the mustard flavour mellows over time. I would not use as much Italian seasoning as called for and I added more honey. It was okay, just not my favorite.

Wiener Schnitzel

My husband really liked this, I used Italian seasoned breadcrumbs. I floured the pork cutlets and then put them in the fridge, and it really did help keep the crumbs stuck in place while cooking. I will make this again. I also squeezed lemon prior to serving.
