Also, the fixed income doesn't allow for exotic dishes. So, keeping it simple, quick, yet tasty is where I'm at. Back in the day it was decorating Christmas cookies as a family, with each of us trying to outdo the other. Strangely, people love my meat loaf and potato salad. Nothing fancy, but I guess it turns out better than their's does. Trying to make something edible out of a meager pantry. But then, my moods and meds alter my tastes sometimes.
