About this Cook
I am 37 years old and married with 4 children ranging between 11 and 20. I love to bake, cook, and eat! I am a homemaker. I am a girl scout leader, and I enjoy helping with charity events. I believe in the importance of family, and have been a homemaker most of my adult life.
My favorite things to cook
Old Fashioned Chocolate Fudge is my favorite candy to make. I love to bake anything and everything in the dessert category. I love to bake cakes and decorate them. I love to make terriyaki stir fry, any kind of stew, and easy throw together suppers that I have concocted. I love to try new recipes. I think it is very exciting just thinking about the outcome.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorite family traditions are Turkey on Thanksgiving at my house with all the trimmings; stuffing, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, buttercup squash, cheese and brocolli, cherry nut bread, yeast rolls, cranberry sauce, Turkey gravy, and of course PUMPKIN PIE (My Grammy's Recipe). I have carried on this tradition for years. We have a family Christmas Party with tons of candies, cheeses, crackers, pepperoni, sausage, chips, and of course, pies. Pies are a tradition at my house all the time. On Christmas Day, We have ham with brown sugar, pineapples, cherries (basted every 15 minutes) with pineapple juice, cherry juice, and lots of brown sugar. We include of course sweet breads, the two types of potatoes, squash, broccoli and gravy, pies, and whatever anyone else wants.
My cooking triumphs
Feeding a family of 6 on a tight budget.
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had any cooking tragedies besides "Sullivan Suprise"- Chicken, broccoli and rice. It was gross. And worst of all, the rice wasn't cooked enough. It was a horrible flop, that's for sure!
