Born in 1971, I'm a husband, and father who does most of the cooking in the house; good thing I enjoy it.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite things to cook are the traditional family dishes that are part of my french canadian heritage. Tourtiere, Meatball Ragout, and Pouding Chomeur are the key dishes I strive to keep as part of my repertoire. Perogies though not traditional french canadian fare, are another family favorite I like to cook.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well... see above. Ragout au Boulettes (Meatballs in Gravy - though a special gravy), Tourtiere (Meat Pie), and Pouding Chomeur (a form of bread pudding).
My cooking triumphs
Recently made a chili that was absolutely to die for. I used pork cottage roll instead of ground beef, and used quite a lot of vegetables. It was unique and super delicious.
My cooking tragedies
Recently made a chili that was absolutely to die for. Sound familiar? Yeah, though I consider that chili a cooking triumph, the pork cottage roll was cooked in the slow cooker with a special originally concocted gravy of it's own a few days before making the chili. I have no idea what ingredients I used to cook the pork cottage roll, and consequently have no ability to truly duplicate the chili. That's the tragic part of it.
