Mashed Potatoes with Fried Mushroom, Bacon, and Onion

I call these "heart attack potatoes" They are soooo good, but not for everyday! I use sour cream instead of ranch, and to make them even tastier (and more unhealthy!) I add in some shredded cheddar cheese. They taste almost like the filling of pirogies mmmmm!

It was really flavourful...as others said, it is quite salty, so garlic powder is a must instead of garlic salt. Next time, I would water down the wet ingredients some.

PHILLY Creamy Basil and Red Pepper Pasta

I really liked this recipe, but I am a fan of cream cheese based cream sauces. The peppers and basil gave it a nice texture, and it looks nice to serve it with a fresh basil leaf on top!

No Fry Crab Rangoon

These were good. I haven't had any sort of crab rangoon before. I can see they would be better deep fried since baking them couldn't cook them as evenly. I didn't like how the pinched tops got all crispy and hard, and the bottom/sides were still soft. The filling was delicious! I'd probably serve that with crackers or pita chips!

It was delicious! The only changes I made was I added a bit of chili powder to the breadcrumbs and baked it in a foil lined baking tray @ 350 for about 30 mins instead of frying it.

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

I agree with others..you have to get the timing just perfect for your microwave! But this is amazing brittle. Easiest thing I've ever made! For easy peel-off, I dump the hot mixture onto an upside down baking sheet. Comes off and breaks up nicely!

Pasteles -Argentinean Caramel Filled Crescents

This is a great idea...but I found that even if you only use 1 tsp of filling, it still leaks out! So what you end up eating is basically just pastry. I think I would bake solid pastry wedges and serve it with the warm caramel sauce as a dip...that way you can taste the caramel!

Definitely use more blueberries! I reduced the oil and added extra sour cream to make up the moisture. Wow the oil was still all you could taste! They were bland and really dense (even though I barely mixed the batter).

Coconut Shrimp I

These always turn out great! There's no way you need 3 cups of oil for frying. I fry on the stove with about 1/2 inch oil in the pan. Served with pina colada dipping sauce compliments these shrimp well.

This is one of the best things I have ever eaten! Perfect! I choose not to use raspberries in it (they get stuck in everyone's teeth!) I also brush the tortillas with a bit of butter using a bbq brush instead of cooking spray.

Frosted Pineapple Cookies

These were really good cookies! They are more of a cake cookie, which I love. So the bottoms didn't get too brown, I baked them on a tinfoil-lined baking sheet. I used the frosting very sparingly as it is REALLY sweet!
