Blueberry Pie

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2009
Loved this one! I used frozen blueberries and it turned out great. I used store bought refrigerated pie crust. I need some work on my lattice crust but all in all everyone loved it. I served it with ice cream and reddiwhip.

Chicken Cordon Bleu I

I thought this was just ok, even though my family liked it. I thought it was too dry. I made the sauce people added to their reviews here, and I thought that was pretty gross. I wanted a sauce without a lot of heavy cream etc. I guess you have to use the cream to get a good tasting sauce. I don't think I'd make this again.

Fresh Broccoli Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2009
Loved this one! I went to a family reunion over the weekend and had this same type of salad. I never got the recipe from the host so I went searching here. This one is the closest to the one I loved over the weekend. This one adds raisins, which was a nice little pop of sweetness. I halved the mayo and vinegar and sugar though. I don't like my veggies too saucy/mayonnaisey, my husband loved it! Ill be making this for aprties from now on. Thanks!

Turkey Polish Sausage and Peppers

Reviewed: Sep. 2, 2009
This was pretty good. My husband really liked it. I make this type of meal alot ususally out on the grill. This one I did inside in a large skillet. I cooked it a bit differently. I cooked the veggies first and added wedged tomatoes (I do this to add juice to the dish) at the last minute. Then I removed the veggies and added sausage. Something made me squirmy about cooking raw turkey with veggies. Then I added veggies to the cooked turkey and did the balsamic and cheese at last minute, that was a nice touch. I served mine over brown rice. All in all pretty good.

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
These were pretty good, and easy to make, But too cakey. I baked them at 350 instead of 300. At 300 I felt like they would never cook. The hubby said that they were the best "dunking in milk" cookies ever though. Thats why I gave them 4 stars and not 3.

Blonde Brownies I

Yum Yum Yum! More like a cookie than anything. I would have doubled the recipe had I known how little volume it made. I only had a pinch of walnuts left so maybe thats where my volume was missing not sure. Very tasty though!

Pleasant Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 2, 2009
This was a pretty good recipe. My pork never turned out to be that tender. The chops really shrunk when cooked. The sauce was good. I added mushrooms to the onions in the beginning and also added white wine to the chicken broth. The sauce was tasty, but the pork chops themselves was not great. I served with wheat pasta and corn on the cob. Great dinner thanks!

Golden Pork Chops

Awesome, my husband loved this recipe the most. I did do like other reviewers and "brown" the pork before I baked it with the sauce. I browned it with EVOO and a little balsamic and garlic. Then poured the sauce over it and baked for 45 mins. Even my 2 year old loved it! Great recipe.

I thought this was easy to make and pretty good. The topping was a little to breaddy for me. Overall good though.

Red Beans and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2009
Very good! I combined a few others suggestions for this quick and easy dinner. I used EVOO instead of butter, red peps, a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies. Added chili powder, a clove of garlic, and some cayenne pepper after I fed my two year old- (who loved it also), and a squeeze of fresh lemon. Ill have to remember this one. Awesome dinner- thanks!

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
I added garlic to the dressing. Maybe that was the downfall to the dressing. There was too much od a "bite" in the dressing almost like a spicyness. I love spicy but not in my spinach salad with strawberries. My husband also noticed the "bite" maybe it was the red onion? Not sure I would make this again.

Alaska Salmon Bake with Pecan Crunch Coating

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
This recipe was ok. I followed all direction except used walnuts instead of pecans. It was too breaddy for me. I prefer my BBQ salmon much more to this. I need more sweetness onm the salmon. The mustard was a nice flavor though. I probably would not make again.

Chicken Marsala

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
Fantastic recipe- definately a keeper! I read some of the other suggestions and kind of put my own spin on the recipe. Heres what I did. Followed a previous posters idea to "shake" the chicken in a ziplock with the flour mixture. I used the very thinly sliced chicken breasts so I would not have to pound them out. Then I followed the directions and added (when I added the mushrooms and liquids) a clove of freshly grated garlic, (no sherry- I just added some of my resiling wine in the fridge instead). I also added freshly chopped parsley and a few squeezes of lemon to the sauce, oh and about 1/8 cup of fat free half and half to thicken it some. I served it over whole wheat pasta, with risotto and grean beans. Thanks for the recipe!!

Strawberry Tiramisu Trifle

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
This is one of my favorite recipes. I make it for family functions alot. The only thing I do differently is add graham cracker crumbs after each cream layer. It makes for a nice added texture. When my cousin came to stay with us from Germany for two months I think I made this once a week for her, she loved it.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
I made this lasagna (over 2 days) for my daughters 2nd birthday party. I had 30 people here all very good cooks. Originally my husband said to get his sisters recipe for lasagna but after they had this version for dinner she was asking me for my recipe. The lasagna was absolutely amazing!. Although after I made 4 large pans of it I renamed it the "million dollar lasagna" becasue it cost so much to make. I thought the recipe was very good. I liked that the sauce was made from scratch, cooking it the 1.5 hours made a huge difference. The mozzarella cheese was very expensive so after I spent 12 dollars on the deli slices, I decided to buy a huge bag of shredded mozarella from Costco. I tried to just double the recipe to make 4 pans but that was not nearly enough so the next day I had to rebuy the ingredients and add layers to the pans. I used non boil noodles, they turned out fine. If I had to boil the noodles, I might still be making the lasagna right now. All in all it was a lot of work but was worth it in the end. I had to bake the lasagna for 1 hour instead of 25 mins, cause they had been refridgerated, and were so thick. I even had people ask me to bottle the sauce for them. Great recipe- thanks for sharing it!
