Even I was able to make a successful crisp, and my family and I love it. I also doubled the topping (used another 1/4cup applesauce instead of butter) and cut the white sugar in half (still a little sweet for me). I think I'll try more cinammon next time. Delicious either way.

Easy, fast, delicious. The outside was a little crispy, more like a biscuit, but I loved it like that. Dough seemed more like dough, less like batter - more milk next time? I took the advice of one reviewer and added just under 1/4 cup sour cream - very moist but not doughy or gooey. I also added 1 1/2 Tblspn orange zest - gave it another dimension. Can't wait for my 4yr son to wake up and give his review!

My 4yr son would not go to bed without having a slice - I thought the nuttiness of the molasses would be unappealing to him, but he loved it. Great with cream cheese in the morning.
