About this Cook
My name is Stacie,I'm a single mother with a very picky son but I do enjoy cooking and sometimes I find the thing he likes to eat. I'm 44 years old, yes,I waited a long time to get into cooking but I do enjoy it. I don't like it when somebody's looking over my shoulder watching me. Arrgh!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy trying out new things. Today I made a Shepard's pie which was easy,I did a little bit of it the Rachel Ray way and a little of my own. My dad says 'Pretty good' A compliment!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't know about favorite cooking traditions,my late grandmother and my mother got/get in a rut cooking things. My grandmother was cooking veggie soup, she made it so often that she made it one time in 4 days! My mother is getting that way with chili, chicken spaghetti so I'm trying not to be like that. My son is getting intrested in cooking ( like fried salads!)
My cooking triumphs
Fried green tomato sandwich and Red and green tomato soup off of this very site!
My cooking tragedies
Let's not go over that. hehe

Chicken Stroganoff I
I made this dish tonight with 3 chicken breasts, plenty for 4, only 1 cup of flour, olive oil in place of butter, homemade half/half, just a tablespoon of parsley, orange bell pepper in place of mushrooms, (mushrooms are icky to me, (forgot the worcestershire sauce but it wasn't missed),homemade sour cream that somebody told me about off this site. And made Broccoli for a side dish! ta-dah! GREAT dish! and I have been told I could make this 'Once a month'!

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan
I'll rate it a 4, it's a good and fair dish, I could really taste the Parmesan cheese, especially after a few bites but it never did get like crusty like they say to let it get. It makes a boring dish step up.

Chocolate Eclair Squares
Boy! I say it was a hit! I only got a spoonful for me today, my family wiped me out! I made it last night and this morning I got a shock when I looked in the frig, you could add bananas to this. Or use banana pudding in place of vanilla. I might try it like that.
