About this Cook
My name is Stacie,I'm a single mother with a very picky son but I do enjoy cooking and sometimes I find the thing he likes to eat. I'm 44 years old, yes,I waited a long time to get into cooking but I do enjoy it. I don't like it when somebody's looking over my shoulder watching me. Arrgh!
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy trying out new things. Today I made a Shepard's pie which was easy,I did a little bit of it the Rachel Ray way and a little of my own. My dad says 'Pretty good' A compliment!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't know about favorite cooking traditions,my late grandmother and my mother got/get in a rut cooking things. My grandmother was cooking veggie soup, she made it so often that she made it one time in 4 days! My mother is getting that way with chili, chicken spaghetti so I'm trying not to be like that. My son is getting intrested in cooking ( like fried salads!)
My cooking triumphs
Fried green tomato sandwich and Red and green tomato soup off of this very site!
My cooking tragedies
Let's not go over that. hehe

Yummy Sweet Potato Casserole
I've been told this is a good recipe, I made it for the family, not for me, I'm not a sweet potato person but apprantly it's worth the effort.

Waldorf Salad II
A regular salad was already made so I just added the chopped apples, I just used one by the way and the golden raisins and used a drizzle of ranch dressing! very good! nice crunchy taste.

Cheeseburger Meatloaf
Hmm, it was good and like I've been told by a family member, 'It's different' and I did do some things different than the recipe, I added fiesta cheese in stead, and I put bacon on top. But for it to be a truly cheeseburger meatloaf, a person should add tomato of type, like a diced tomato and maybe a few other things, this is a good recipe, I'm just not the meatloaf type.
