About this Cook
I am a father of two beautuful girls that are not picky eaters, ... usually. I have always loved cooking since my mother forced my siblings and I to do it from a young age (my two brothers and two sisters are also very good cooks). I have been married for 9 years to a wonderful woman that hates to cook, but doesn't seem to mind baking. I like to cook/eat foreign dishes and foods with lots of variety.
My favorite things to cook
I usually bust out the Dutch ovens when I get the urge to cook the really good stuff. Cooking outdoors is my favorite.
My favorite family cooking traditions
On Valentines day my wife and I make fondue instead of going out and trying to get a meal at a fully packed restaurant. This has sometimes spread to other holidays if we decide to stay home.
My cooking triumphs
I threw a tasty Stir Fry dish together one Sunday that has had numerous requests since then.
My cooking tragedies
I sometimes cook without using a recipe and usually don't have problems but one time I made shrimp with Spanish rice with no recipe, it wasn't very good.

Grandma VanDoren's White Bread
This bread was good but not quite what I had expected. Other reviewers stated that this bread works well with regular self-rising flour but I used it and didn't get what I expected. I will make this again and use the bread flour instead to see what the recipe is really supposed to taste like.
