About this Cook
My husband and I sold our businesses and moved to Dallas for a job opportunity he just couldn't pass up. Since I am currently not working, I'm becoming acquainted with the "house-wife" profession. I have to say a new cooking hobby has been born out of this whole experience and for the first time in my life I'm actually enjoying it. I'm the type of gal who prefers to eat rather than cook.
My favorite things to cook
I like anything made with beans and cheese...easy and always good :) Otherwise, my favorite dish is lemon chicken piccata served with wild grain rice, sauteed zucchini, wild green salad, and some fresh garlic bread. YUMMEEZ!
My cooking triumphs
I made my first pot roast last month and my husband and sister-in-law LOVED IT...I'm always very self-conscious about how my creations taste, so when the family approves, I'm happy.
My cooking tragedies
Have fun and be open to trying new things.

World's Best Lasagna
My husband loved it and I agree that the sauce is what made it delicious. I would recommend using shredded mozzarella ....or make sure you use REALLY THIN slices of mozzarella cheese. You will love this recipe.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I
Very simple and delicious stew. I did add an extra cup of beef broth (I like "brothy" soups) and waited until an hour before stew was done to add the celery (this was a good recommendation someone else had made.) In the future, I may play a bit and add some spices to give it a little more kick.
