Chewy Caramel

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
This recipe is amazing! I made it with my siblings for fun, and it turned out great! This was my first 100% successful attempt at candy making and I was pleased that the end result came out so well. Scrumptious flavor; the ingredient portions were perfect. I cooked it to about 248 degrees and it set very well, plus, the texture was superb. Thank you for the fantastic recipe. I'll most definitely make it again.

Quick and Easy Brownies

Reviewed: May 21, 2009
While I appreciate the simplicity of this recipe, the taste leaves something to be desired. The consistency is really cake-y as well. I added chocolate chips, but they all fell down to the bottom, thankfully they didn't burn, since I had to increase the cooking time. This is my first attempt at making brownies from scratch, and as of right now, boxed brownies mixes are winning. I may fiddle around with a few other recipes, but I doubt I'll return to this one. My brother and I had a good time making them though, thanks.

Taylor's Piroshki

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This was fine. It was nice to have something authentic for our Russian history unit, but it didn't have very much flavor. Although everyone loved rolls! They were very light, flaky and tender. I may make them again if I need rolls. Thanks!

Chex® Muddy Buddies®

This recipe is amazing! I've made it twice now (and forgotten the vanilla both times), but it's still delicious. I'm not even a fan of peanut butter! The only change I make is adding a few extra chocolate chips and a little bit of marshmallow cream. Thanks for the post!

Super-Simple, Super-Spicy Mongolian Beef

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
I probably shouldn't be reviewing this, because we really changed the recipe to fit what we had on hand. First, we used chicken instead of beef (which was really good, I reccomend doing the same thing if you don't have any beef). Second, we only used half the red pepper flakes and some ginger instead of the hoisin sauce. Didn't have any green onions either, so we used a mixture of vegetables. The flavor was really tasty and spicy (even with half the pepper), but everyone loved it! We'll gladly have this again, and I'd like to try it with more of the actual ingredients. Thanks for the recipe!

French Toast I

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
This was OK. I'd like to give it a 2 1\2, though. It wasn't very sweet (even though we added sugar), and the spices were too strong. It tasted pretty good when it was covered in powdered sugar and maple syrup. Probably won't make this again, because I think everyone would have liked it more if it had been sweeter. Thanks anyway, I was glad to have the experience making French toast.

English Royalty Chocolate Chip Scones

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
A friend originally gave me this recipe, and I'm glad to have found it here! I've made these many times, and they turn out nicely. I always recieve lots of compliments for these. The only drawback to these is that they sometimes turn out dry. I may experiment with some other scone recipes, but I'll most likely continue with this one. Thank you!

Ranch Dressing I

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This was just OK. It was kinda gunky and thin in consistency. The flavor was plus or minus too. I've tried a few other ranch dressings, and those had turned out better. Thank you anyway.

Delicious Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This bread has great flavor! The only problem I had with it was that it didn't rise very well, therefore making it a little heavy in texture. My Dad made it in the bread machine once too, and that helped it to rise better. Thanks!

Light Wheat Rolls

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This was just OK to me. It took a lot of work, and the taste wasn't that great. I was bummed that they didn't stay risen when I cooked them in the final stretch. I know that they're wheat rolls, but the wheat was pretty overpowering. My parents liked them though. Thanks! I was glad to have the experience making rolls.

Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2008
This soup is delicious! I've made it 3 times, and everyone will eat it willingly. The bouillon cube tastes fine to us, even though I've been worried about it being too salty. I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 (even though I'd like to give it a 4 1\2)because there is a lot of broth, and it isn't very thick. To fix this problem, I've added potatoe flakes and leftover gravy. You can also use turkey, I did that after Thansgiving. Thank you for this quick and easy recipe!

This was tasty! It was a little bit hard for fudge, but it had a great flavor! We added chocolate peppermint candies on the top. Thanks for the yummy recipe.

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
This bread is really tasty. I add fresh rosemary (to give it more flavor) and that is what makes this recipe good. Sometimes this can be hit or miss. I've made it probably 7 or 8 times, and its turned out only about 3 or 4 times. One time it was because the power went out while it was in the bread machine! :O I usually add extra seasoning to give it more flavor. It is good, but its flavor isn't as good as the stuff you can buy at the store, but for something you can make yourself, it's pretty darn good! Thank you!

Ranch Dressing II

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
This has the most amazing flavor! We never have onion powder around, so I add a little extra garlic powder. It's a little thick for a dressing, so when I want it for salad I add either milk or half and half. Sometimes mine gets a little salty, so I add a pinch of powdered sugar. Every time I make this it is eated almost instantly! Never will we buy ranch dressing again! Thank you so much for this recipe!

Aunt Teen's Creamy Chocolate Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
I really don't like giving bad reviews, and I probably did something wrong. Because, when I added my chocolate chips, the fudge hardened up, and was crunchy and crumbly. Oh well, I may try it again and melt my chocolate chips first or something. If anyone else's turns out like mine, you can add a little milk and some Golden Grahams cereal to make it like indoor smores. My Mom liked the "fudge" when I added those ingredients.

Scrambled Eggs a la Jan

Reviewed: Dec. 15, 2008
This was a big disappointment. I'm not sure what I did wrong. I omitted the wine, because I was feeding children, maybe that's what did it. When the eggs finished cooking, they became this weird dry yet mushy consistancy. I'm giving this 2 stars because the flavor was pretty good. Next time I make scrambled eggs, I may add cheese and garlic powder. Thanks for the creative ingredient ideas for scrambled eggs.

Microwave Peanut Brittle

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This was good in flavor, but as it turned out, mine didn't get cooked enough! We have a 1250 watt microwave, so I decided to reduce the cooking time to 8 and 2 1\2 minutes. Well, I was wrong, it seemed cooked, but never hardened up. I gave it to my Grandmother anyway, and she said it was good, if you eat it in small pieces. I put what I had in the oven (350 degrees) to cook it a little more, and that worked fine. I may try this out again, except cook it a little more.

WOW! These biscuits are really good! I can hardly taste the whole wheat in them! They always rise well(although I add a little extra baking powder), and are perfect warm with butter. Thanks!

Spiced Pear Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
This was pretty good. I used fresh pears and it turned out fine. Other than that, I didn't change the recipe at all. It didn't have too much of a real flavor. If I have more ripe pears, and want to make it again, I'll add more spices.
