Married Father of two, the wife and I both love to cook and are exceptionally proficient in the kitchen - give us the basics, pots and pans and a smattering of fresh ingredients and we'll turn out a surprising meal that will satisfy guaranteed! I have been in and out of Restaurant and food service for over thirty years from designing kitchens at all levels to working and overseeing them as well.
My favorite things to cook
Any fresh vegetables, I prefer a continental mix of Asian and Italian but am very much at home with down home stick to your ribs American cuisine... some of the tops on my lists:
Fettuccine Alfredo with garlic shrimp, whole roast chicken and vegetables, pot roast and mashed cauliflower, Thai fusion pad thai and beggars pastas.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Pennsylvania Dutch back ground for me crossed with a Latin heritage for her.. Frijolitos and Scrapple anyone? Perhaps Beef Stroganoff Enchiladas? No? Ah well, you would be missing out on some special evenings if you weren't hanging around here.......
My cooking triumphs
The year I totally burned the turkey up in flames on the bar b que for a Fourth of July party comes to mind, but really - Thanksgiving dinner for 40 plus Family from scratch would be at the top - three days of prep and cooking from appetizers to entrees to desserts, then sitting back and enjoying a slow meal with Family was the best experience so far!
My cooking tragedies
Again, the Turkey Fiasco of 2005 is at the top, other than that not really have any other really horrendous experiences to share... I mean - everyone has a bad day or night now and then!
