I am happily married with 3 wonderful daughters.They are all on thier own now (almost).My husband and I bought a 22 acre farm last year and we are enjoying fixing it up. It is in the middle of a fruit belt so I want to learn to make preserves and can. One of my future son-in-laws thinks I am the best cook in the world! Chili, roast beef dinners, anything BBQ, spaghetti, casseroles, apple or blueberry pies or crisps. When it is someones birthday they get to choose what they want for their BD dinner. On Christmas eve(Icelandic tradition) My sisters and thier families all get together for Christmas Turkey dinner. Each of us is responsible for a dish or two. Mine is the mashed potatoes(my special recipe) and the gravey (also my special recipe). The kids always clean up and do the dishes after. The sooner they are done the sooner they get to open presents! My mashed potatoe recipe is very well liked. I also make wicked twice baked potatoes! Always requested agt BBQs. When I was young my Mother had Rhumatoid arthritis very bad and I was responsible for dinners. She taught me a lot but the best thing she taught me that I have passed on to my girls is making pies from scratch. I have even won contests! Because I dont measure (unless I am following a recipe) I sometimes screw up. That is kind of rare tho.
