Chipotle Crusted Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
Good recipe but the chipotle chile powder was changed to 1 tablespoon of regular chile powder to suit our taste. Keep the tenderloin a light pink on the inside for a yummy tender pork dish. I will fix this again.

Pumpkin Butter

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2009
OMG! What a great recipe! I had no idea pumpkin butter was so easy to make. This was so good that I bought small canning jars, filled them with the pumpkin butter, tied a pretty bow around them and passed them out as gifts. (follow the directions for canning with the glass jars) Great on toast, English muffins, scones, bagels, etc. I did not change the recipe at all. Thank you

Slow Cooker Carnitas

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2009
Without a doubt, this recipe will go into my recipe box. As good as some of the restaurants I have had pulled pork in (even better) After cooking, I pulled the pork apart with two forks. Made some white rice and substituted one of the cups of water with the juices from the roast to add flavor. Heated black beans from a can to pour over the rice, and fried bananas in a little butter. OMG! The pork fell apart. Don't change anything in this recipe. Thank You!

Grandma's Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2009
This was good! I'm a health freak when it comes to food and I was going to change things around but, only changed chicken broth for the water. Decided to leave the bacon and half & half and I'm glad I did. The flavors were remarkable. Easy and a hearty soup on a cold winter day. Thank you for the recipe.

Quick Savory Cranberry Glazed Pork Loin Roast

Reviewed: Nov. 6, 2009
Oh! Yes! This is a keeper. I did not change anything with the ingredients and it turned out perfect, moist, and tender. The store only had a 2 1/2 lb. roast so I did half the recipe. Thank you.

Basil Shrimp

I love shrimp cooked any way and this will be on the top of my list, I did not change anything in this recipe. I served this with a cheese grits souffle (found in a grits cookbook) and green beans. What a meal with many flavors going on. mmmmmmmm. Thank you for the recipe

Pollo Mediterranean

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
OMG this was wonderful! The sauce was full of flavor. I used capers instead of olives. After the sauce thickened I returned the chicken and cooked on low until the guests arrived. (Almost 45 min. longer) The chicken was even more tender. Stir often though so the sauce doesn't stick. I added this to angel hair pasta. Garlic bread and salad as sides. Thank you for such a flavorful recipe.

Venison Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
My family said this was the best pot roast they have ever eaten. I had a venison roast on hand and had all the ingredients in the pantry and refrigerator. I followed the recipe and cooked the roast a little longer before adding the vegetables which made it even more tender. Will make this again.

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2009
I didn't change anything with these cake-like cookies. Next time I make them I will add chopped pecans to the batter and maybe add some flavoring to the iceing or try another iceing, as it was too sweet for my taste. The kitchen smelled delicious when the cookies were cooking. I'm freezing some so they don't get eaten up in one night. Hope they freeze well.

Slow Cooker Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
I halfed this recipe. I used venison stew meat and added mushrooms and two garlic cloves minced. Had to add more liqued from another can of diced tomatoes. (next time I will try red wine)Other then that I followed the recipe. Cooked this in a crock pot as recommended and the meat was very tender and the house smelled soooo good while this cooked. Served over egg noodles.

Greek Lemon Chicken Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2009
I cut this recipe in half and only made a few changes. I used butter instead of margarine, orzo instead of rice, and turkey instead of chicken. May not be necessary but, I sauted the onion and celery to get rid of the crunch before adding to the soup base. Absolutely loved this recipe. The blending of flavors is perfect. This will be added to my recipe box as a favorite. Thank You!

Tangy Slow Cooker Pork Roast

Reviewed: Sep. 17, 2009
I had all the ingredients on hand except the tenderloin, which made this recipe easy and inexpensive. Next time I will put slits in the meat and stuff with garlic cloves. Maybe add some more hot sauce. I cooked the tenderloin two hrs. longer which made the meat soooo tender. I transformed this dish into pulled pork by shredding it and added barbeque sauce and had yummy pork on rolls. Thank you for the recipe.

Creamy Spinach Tortellini

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
I had two servings, this recipe was so good!!! I usually don't prepare recipes that call for heavy cream but, I thought I would give this a try and the flavor was outstanding. If only I had some French bread to soak up the sauce. I added shrimp to this recipe which I sauteed earlier in a small amount of butter & olive oil and a dash of salt. This made it a complete meal. Next time I will try cooked chicken breast (prepared ahead of time) Cover it with some of the sauce and accompany the chicken with the rest of the sauce and tortellini. M-M-M-M

Sloppy Joes II

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
After preparing this dish you wouldn't even know that I used ground venison instead of ground beef. This recipe is outstanding and I will prepare this again. I halfed the recipe again to have more sauce and added worcestershire sauce and hot sauce to taste. WOW!! Can't wait to fix these sloppy joes again. Thank you Tamara for the recipe. I bet ground turkey would be good also.

Garlic and Ranch Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
I often look for turkey burgers when eating out and have had my share...some good, some bad. Duffy's in Florida is good. Anyhow, this recipe is the best. When all the ingredients were added the texture was hard to form a burger so, I added Italian bread crumbs just so the burgers held together. Wonderful flavor. A great recipe for someone watching their calories. Next time I will use a bun and all the trimmings. Thank you for the recipe. This will go in my recipe box.

Coriander Tabbouleh Salad with Shrimp

Reviewed: May 28, 2009
I could not wait to write a review for this tabbouleh salad. This is the first time I have even tried to make this salad. I followed the receipe only adding a little more lemon juice to my taste. Instead of shrimp I cooked salmon on the grill and layed it on top of the tabbouleh. Warm French bread and you have a fantastic meal. Wow! Sensational! The combination of flavors is outstanding. This is a keeper and I can't wait for my friends to try it. THANK YOU!!!

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: May 12, 2009
This is sure to be a keeper. I didn't have Italian sausage but, did have a small amount of breakfast sausage (Jimmy Dean) and turkey kielbasa. In my pantry I had small egg noodles and substituted this for the potatoes. Other then this I followed the recipe and all I can say is m-m-m-m-m. I got rid of leftovers but, next time will use the spicy Italian sausage. Thank you for the recipe!

Laura's Quick Slow Cooker Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2009
I will make this chili again but, change a few things. I added chicken cooking stock (I thought this recipe was too thick) This is the only change I made and after cooking the chili in the slow cooker realized that the longer it cooked the better it tasted. Next time I will not use two cans of tomato soup. Maybe one and then substitute the other with a can of chopped tomatos or tomato sauce. Maybe even omit the allspice. I will also use 1/2 tsp. of red pepper flakes to suit our taste. Other then that not a bad recipe. Thank you and I will try this again.

Heavenly Potatoes and Ham

Reviewed: Apr. 16, 2009
I prepared the dish this morning, put it in the fridge, and heated it for dinner. I halfed the recipe, used a few less potatoes but, followed the recipe. I was amazed at how good it was. Guess what....three of us ate the entire dish. Of course we had seconds. My son recommended that I add Dijon mustard next time. Since I cut the recipe in half I will try 1 tablespoon to give it some jazz. Great dish for a potluck. A keeper.
