My favorite things to cook
chips and salsa, baked chicken, chocolate chip cookies, lowcal banana bread
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas fudge, snickerdoodles, baked chicken, homemade soup, frosted christmas sugar cookies, goulash, etc etc Too many to list! My grandma was an excellent cook and we are still using her recipes today! Also my Aunt Paula has some wonderful recipes: blueberry buckle and pineapple/orange/cheese jell-o salad! Yum!
My cooking triumphs
Chips and salsa, 'No More Salty Easter Ham' found on allrecipes.com, baked chicken, 'Honey Chipotle-Glazed Salmon with Mango Salsa' found on betterrecipes.com (this stuff is sooo good!), lowcal banana bread (altered from my Aunt Paula's original recipe--I use olive oil instead of vegetable oil or shortening and splenda for baking instead of sugar plus I add some cinnamon and it works and tastes great!)
My cooking tragedies
Trying to make too many chocolate chip cookies at once, overloading the mixing bowl, and having batter sprayed all over the kitchen from the mixer being too full. My husband still won't let me forget this and it happened over three years ago! Who can blame me for trying to make more chocolate chip cookies? They go too fast!
