I live with my husband, 3 children and toy poodle, Baby. I work from home as an insurance agent, so I am home a lot during the day to cook and take care of my family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook big dinners like thanksgiving and christmas. I love to try new recipes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every holiday I get my oldest daughter in the kitchen with me and I give her little tips and advice on how to prepare things as I'm cooking them. She peels all the potatoes and chops all the veggies, She's 16 so she acts like she dosen't like it but I know she does.

Even though I like to bake. Things dont always come out right. Dont know why yet. Hopefully I get a few tips here.

Quick and Easy Brownies
These brownies are delicious. I also dropped the flour to 1 cup. One reviewer was right when she said stainless steel pans burn. I used a glass dish the first time and they turned out just fine. This time I had to turn the oven downt to 250 after the first five minutes because I could smell them cooking too fast. Turn oven to 300 if using a stainless steel pan. Delicious!

Baking Powder Biscuits
This recipe is much better than the one I had been using. It is much lighter and I like the slight sweetness. I didnt have any milk or shortening so I used water and butter instead. Delicious and buttery. Next time I will use milk but keep the butter.

Sweet Potato Pound Cake
It was pretty good. Not a real rave whith the family, but that could have been my fault. I'm working on my baking.
