Puck in the fridge!
About this Cook
I learned to cook from my mother and two grandmothers, who are all southern women. My Mamaw cooks by intuition because she was a farmer's wife and couldn't go to the store every time she wanted to, had to stretch dollars, and had a lot of frozen and fresh veggies and meats. I learned from her not to get stressed if I don't have an ingredient and how to improvise, and really almost all my cooking is improvisation. My mother taught me the art of baking a darned good pie, and her mother taught me the finer details of breads and soups.
My favorite things to cook
Any kind of stir fry, paella, tomato-based pasta dish, corn bread, and all kinds of pastries, breads, and pies.

Roasted Corn and Basmati Rice Salad
This was delicious! I added crumbled feta and served with Tabbouleh and hummus with flat bread

Eggless Eggnog
My husband and I loved this egg nog. I used just what I had on hand for milk, so it was 3 cups of skim and 1 1/2 cups of low fat buttermilk, but it came out nicely. I wish the original recipe had included the alcohol, though. I went ahead and tried 3/4 cup of rum and 1/4 cup of bourbon whiskey because I thought that was how much liquor the other recipes call for, but it was so strong next time I will use less rum.

Vegetarian Stuffed Red Bell Peppers
These were great, and I added a cup of minced cranberries, too. I think they really made the dish, especially since it's the Christmas season. Also, other reviewers had suggested goat's cheese, which I happened to have, so I added that, too. Magnifique! I served it with Indian-style naan bread and the moroccan salmon cakes also on allrecipes.
