About this Cook
I love to experiment in the kitchen. I am more of a cook than a baker. When I cook I am able to add a spice or subtract an ingredient more so than in baking. I really fell in love with cooking when I was in college and studied abroad in Italy. We learned how to make homemade red sauce with roma tomatoes and fresh garlic. It was wonderful! I've been doing it ever since.
My favorite things to cook
Italian foods, quick and easy, slow cooker recipes, desserts
My favorite family cooking traditions
Sausage gravy and biscuits on Christmas morning.
My cooking triumphs
A sausage and mushroom risotto that was a huge hit. Since then I've lost the cookbook and am always checking bookstores for copies!

Pecan Pie IV
I really loved this recipe (even had people at Thanksgiving asking for the recipe). Just the right balance of pecans and "gooey-ness". Very good!

Irresistible Pecan Pie
This was good, but it almost had TOO many pecans.

Chicken Tortilla Soup V
My family loved this recipe. We've tried other chicken tortilla soups that just didn't work -- this one was spot on! The only think I would add is black beans...
