Me & Grandma
About this Cook
Im a bushy,an aussie lad from the bush now living in suburbia.I still go off and hunt and camp at our old places with my family but my life is on a diffent path.Love to cook,Love to eat but have changed our diets to much healtier diets over past years (more fish)less fats) especially after I was almost wiped out on a construction site in 2000 leaving me permanetly injured so I had some big changes.Have a wonderful wife and 2 daughters ,dog,4 birds and 3 cats!. Love swimming and many other things. Especially love unique foods and my wifes family in Oregon enlightened us on some of the good ole tastes from over there everytime we go over.My wifes grandmother is a brilliant cook and cooks up all these amazing dishes from another time and the food is awesome.Anyhow I came here looking for a baby back ribs recipe and away I went!
My favorite things to cook
Steak, stirfries, pasta, I always use rump,Rib eye fillet or Tbone cuts My new ribs recipe is awesome using a custom made BBQ sauce with plums instead of Blackberrys as the base.lipsmacking mmmmmmm
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have this basic pasta dish that came from my mum.It was a great filler for hungry kids and flavours were so full and rich.Definetly needs the right Bacon and Tomato sweet sauce. My daughters cook it for themselves and love it.We did actually overdo it and cooked it too much .I did not think possible as my wife Megan can only eat it once every few months as she has reached her maximum intake on it but what can I say its one of those things linked to a memory for me and it makes all that more of a experience.
My cooking triumphs
I cooked a cherry glazed Duck one year and went away from the recipe and changed my ingredients and mix rates and it was superb only thing I could not replicate it as I never could remember the recipe and my alterations. It was a sad day that day back in 1996 but at least we got to feaast on it just one time :0
My cooking tragedies
