I made these muffins today using the "healthier" suggestions of another cook / reviewer: white whole wheat flour, 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce, brown sugar instead of white sugar - they were delicious! Moist, yummy, great texture, and the butterscotch was a great twist on the flavor. My 3 year old twins kept asking for more - in fact when I went to package them up for our gift giving, there were a few more missing than I had given them! I found out today that they can now reach the high counter!
