About this Cook
I am a 2nd year medical student who has just begun experimenting with cooking. Quite a ways to go.
My favorite things to cook
Dishes that are simple yet tasty. Stir frying, sautéing, deep frying - those are my interests right now.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a traditional Punjabi family, so we cook mainly North Indian food at home. I am now leaning towards Western food.

Baked Slow Cooker Chicken
For something so simple, this is really delicious! Followed a few tips found in the reviews. I skinned the chicken and marinated it overnight with a homemade marinade - salt, white and black pepper, garlic powder and chili powder. Lined the bottom after the pot with chopped carrots and potatoes, and stuffed the cavity with one small onion and 4 cloves of crushed garlic. After cooking on low for 8 hours, this was perfect!

Pumpkin Butter I
I used fresh pumpkin and simmered it in water for about twenty minutes, then pureed it. Followed the directions after that, and it turned out pretty good. Very nice on toast.

Peppered Bacon and Tomato Linguine
For something so simple, this was really good! Followed the other reviewers and left only a Tbsp or so of dripping in the pan. Used normal bacon, fresh tomatoes, and upped the amount of onion and basil. Absolutely delicious! Served with Pork Chops Stuffed with Smoked Gouda and Bacon from this site.
