About this Cook
I'm originally from Lebanon, and cooking is an integral part of my family and culture. I'm currently studying, I will graduate in less than one year with a bachelor's in Political Science and minor in Spanish. I speak English, Arabic, and Spanish, and I'm working on Darija (the dialect of Morocco and Algeria)
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook Moroccan food, tagine and couscous specifically. I really enjoy cooking anything that is passed down through time and requires knowledge of certain techniques that are native to a particular region. I love cooking lamb, and I'm very fond of cooking desserts - I'm probably better with sweets than I am with entrees.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The biggest occasions for cooking are, of course, the Eids (or holidays). During Ramadan, which is the Islamic month of fasting, we celebrate with friends and family every night, which requires me to cook for anywhere between 4-10 people every night for a month. This is the time of year that my family makes special cookies, traditional recipes, and hard-to-find meats.

Old-Fashioned Potato Salad
This was a delicious recipe. I didn't have all the ingredients, so instead of the mustard seeds, I used about a tablespoon of honey dijon mustard. I also added some red onions to the green ones to add a little spice. It came out absolutely wonderful!
