I love cooking, and I love having friends and family over for holidays, so of course that is what I did for Easter.  My special project for the day was a Dutch apple pie for which I even rendered my own leaf lard for the crust.  It turned out beautifully, and I was so proud of all of the work… MORE

Southern Comfort Ice Cream Pie
This was so good and so easy. You can't make it on the spur of the moment because you have to freeze it before serving, but everything else is really easy and the results are just so yummy! I took it to a family gathering, and it just disappeared. You must try this.

Grandma's Lemon Meringue Pie
I used my favorite crust recipe ( it has ice cold vodka to counterbalance the toughening effects of water) and added the juice from one more lemon (I have a lemon tree that is still covered with lemons), and the results were just delicious. Thanks for the recipe. I lessened the amount of water by the amount of extra lemon juice.

The Whole Jar of Peanut Butter Cookies
These were great! I used chunky peanut butter & Reeses Peanutbutter chips. They were chunky and very peanutty.
