About this Cook
I cook mainly for my family of 7. I occasionally cook for my extended family and in-laws. My mother-in-law inspires me to try different recipes. My husband loves food and so I try to find new and interesting things to try on him. My children love anything that is pasta but I would love to try new things on them as well. I am of Polynesian heritage and so I love my Polynesian food.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook pasta and anything that my family will just eat up!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom always cooked Polynesian foods that I have tried myself to cook with a twist. Polynesians cook with taro, yukka, corned beef, plantain bananas, seafood, steamed taro leaves and pork.
My cooking triumphs
For the first time in my married life I cooked Thanksgiving dinner all by myself November 2003 since my mom was out of town visiting my sister in Long Beach. I used my rotisserie to make the turkey. I injected cranberries and pineapples into the turkey and it came out beautiful! Thankfully rest of my recipes were taken from allrecipes.com and I am grateful that they all worked out and everyone was pleased, especially me!
My cooking tragedies
I attempted to make a cake from scratch and I chose Red Velvet cake. I couldn't for the life of me find more than 2oz of red food coloring anywhere since the recipe called for 8oz! I also ended up over cooking the cake about 10 minutes and it came out a little dry. The end result of the cake was a little dry and not red enough but I was satisfied because I could actually make a cake from scratch!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
Whenever my family craves chocolate chip cookies we use this one. Best, big, fat, chewy really describes this recipe. I like to add butterscott chips to this recipe as well. These cookies are also even better 2 and 3 days later!

Sour Cream Bundt Cake
Used this recipe and followed some advice from the previous reviews and it turned out just as great as everyone said it would! Highly recommend this eaten plain or frosted!
