Tempeh Reuben

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
The Natural Foods store in my neighborhood sells "bacon"flavored tempeh - it's sooo good! If you can find that variety I recommend using that in place of plain tempeh. And try it in place of real bacon on BLT's. Yum.

Grilled Gyro Burgers

Reviewed: Oct. 4, 2009
Like others, I couldn't keep them from falling apart, so I just scrambled the meat mixture in a fry pan. I also added more seasoning since they were a little bland. The side sauce was good though. I put the cukes through the fdood processor to make it more smooth. Served with tator tots, so not a total loss.

Easy Pepperoni Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2009
Delicious! I use Pilsbury refrigerated thin crust pizza dough for simplicity. I just unroll it onto a greased baking sheet, sprinkle it with mozz cheese, lay the pepperoni on top, and then another layer of cheese. I roll it all up into a log, then bring the ends together to make a "ring". Seal all the edges well with water or the filling will leak! I finish with the egg wash, sprinkle of italian seasoning and grated parm. cheese. The presentation is so pretty I like to serve it to company. And it tastes awesome, too! Thanks for sharing the recipe!

Easy Honey Mustard Mozzarella Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2009
Yum! This was so easy, and using pantry ingredients it was very economical. I didn't think the ingredient list sounded very appetizing, but it turned out delish! I used Purdue thin sliced chx breasts, layered them slightly on top of eachother, brushed them with honey mustard, sprinkled with lemon pepper, then sprinkled jarred bacon bits. Baked in a 350 oven for 20 minutes, then topped with a shredded mixture of cheeses and turned the oven up to 425. Baked until the top was browned and bubbly. Definitely a keeper in our house! Thank you for the recipe!

Sauerbraten Klopse (Sauerbraten Meatballs)

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
These were very good! I doubled the amount of cloves and allspice, baked the meatballs (425 for 15 minutes) and thickened the sauce with crushed gingersnaps. Served over egg noodles. Hubby didn't care for this meal, but he is hard to please. I thought it was great! Thank you!

Homemade Butter

Reviewed: Aug. 31, 2009
So easy and fun! When I was a child in school, the teacher poured cream into an empty cool whip container. She sealed the lid and handed it to the first child and intructed each of us to shake the bowl vigorously. By the time the last child (about 25th) handled it, it was completely solid. It was such a fun and delicious learning experience!

I had some shrimo to use up and was looking for something different to try for dinner. I followed this recipe exactly and it came out great! Next time I might use more shrimp. Try this one - you won't be sorry. Thanks for sharing this one!

Creamy Beef Casserole

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I thought this was ok. Kind of bland tasting so before it went into the casserole dish I added a few dashes of both hot sauce and chili powder. Instead of the bread crumbs I used french's french fried onions. It's a good way of using up ingredients I usually have on hand.

Mom's Best Macaroni Salad

Really great recipe. I didn't add the sugar because the sweetened milk is enough. I added a little pickle juice to offset the sweetness, and it came out perfect. Guests wanted the recipe!

used about 2tbs evoo and 3 tbs butter. sauteed 1/2 chopped onion, 4 fresh cloves of garlic and ingredient spices. dredged chx in flour with paprika and s&p. added wine and lemon, chicken broth then covered and simmered for 15-20 min. served over linguine. it tasted very good, and would have given this recipe 5 stars, but i think the oregano is out of place here.

Omelet in a Bag

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Like others, I was skeptical of this recipe. I just tried it now, (followed it to the letter) and it was fantastic! Used heavy duty quart size freezer bags, with no breakage. Next time I might play around with different ingredients (eggbeaters, etc.) Thank you so much for sharing this recipe - it's so easy, economical, versatile and, oh yeah, YUMMY!

Health Nut Blueberry Muffins

Made these last night and they wer excellent. Just what I was looking for to have with my green tea in the morning. Like others, I used 1/2 cup of brown sugar with 1/4 splenda in place of the white sugar. I also added some chopped strawberries. I think next time I will add 2 cups of berries. Thanks for the recipe!

Corned Beef and Cabbage II

Excellent recipe! I made this for last year's St. Pat's day for the first time and I wouldn't change a thing. As others suggested, try serving it with horseradish sauce - 1/2 cup mayo + 1/2 jarred horseradish. You will not be disappointed!

Beer Bread I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
I truly hate to bake, but when I tried my sister-in-law's beer bread, I loved it so much I had to have the recipe! Like so many others, I used the 1/3 cup of sugar, and brushed melted butter on top. This was in the oven in less than 3 minutes. I don't hate to bake anymore!

Quick Ziti with Swiss Cheese and Ham

This is a tasty, quick dinner using ingredients I already had on hand, but I agree with the others that it was a little bland. I added a little cooked onion, and a few dashes on hot sauce, but is still needed...something.
