About this Cook
I recently made a change and went vegetarian, which subsequently led to a love of cooking that I never knew I had.
My favorite things to cook
I like to try out new kinds of vegetables that I've never used. I like roasting things in the oven, cooking fish/seafood, experimenting with soups, and trying to bake a healthy and tasty muffin.
My favorite family cooking traditions
sweet potatoe mash with marshmallows on top, santa claus cookies at christmastime, salmon and deviled eggs for easter.
My cooking triumphs
I recently won a cornbread cooking contest at the bar across the street from my place.
My cooking tragedies
mostly muffins

Easy Oatmeal Muffins
Deeelicious these were. I didn't have any milk, so I used a half cup water and half cup orange juice. Next time I'll use apple sauce instead of oil, and honey instead of sugar. I've had bad luck with muffins in the past, but these were a breeze.

Baked Rice and Vegetables in Broth
This was delish with a few changes. I added the veggies about 20 minutes in. Added garlic, chopped frozen spinach, and walnuts. I also ended up using about 3.5 cups of broth to keep everything moist. Boyfriend loved it. Makes great leftovers.
