This is fabulous! I kept the recipe as is, using 3lbs of red delicious and 2 1/2 lbs of gala (it's what I had). Some reviewers mentioned putting the apple butter in a blender to make it smooth. I used an electric mixer and it smoothed out most of the chunks (I like a few). This recipe may just become a Christmas gift tradition. Thanks for sharing.

I just wanted to add that I made this banana bread with gluten-free, all-purpose flour and it came out scrumptious!
