I work for a state university and have raised 5 children alone. I had to learn to cook sensible meals and save money, but make the meals appetizing for my kids. My kids think that I am a terrific cook, but maybe they are prejudiced. Any kind of stew, pot roast, spagetti, soups, holiday meals. Thanksgiving turkey, stuffing, candied yams, Christmas roast, gravy, mashed potatoes, etc. My spagetti, and beans and ham hocks!!! My first roast...didn't cook it long enough and it turned out raw!
