I recently was married, so I'm interested in trying out new recipes for my husband! I teach middle school and coach the cheerleading squad, so I'm busy busy busy! I like quick, simple, and hearty meals! I love to bake (my KitchenAid mixer was my favorite wedding present). I also like making traditional meals with a new twist! My family has deep traditions in southern cooking - anything fried and with mayo! My mom and grandma's specialties are fried chicken, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, and chicken and dumplings. The first time I made cookies "from scratch" a couple of years ago. Any baking success - the first time I made souffle, rolling out dough, making perfect pie! Also related to baking - mixing up baking powder and baking soda is a classic!
