I started cooking for my 10 siblings and continue for my family and friends. Cooking for others is a great way to share love and give service to each other.
My favorite things to cook
I have always enjoyed baking and cooking. Since being diagnosed with diabetes I have been concentrating on taking my favorite recipes and making them more healthy.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I am influenced by my mothers side that immigrated from Norway, Germany, and England. I also enjoy the traditions of my fathers Eastern Tennessee traditions of Appalachia. I am just as comfortable to make lefse as fried pies.
My cooking triumphs
Adapting my recipes enough that I personally lost 120lbs without giving up the flavors I love.
My cooking tragedies
Lime jello and peanut butter. I was only seven and trying to help mom.
