Grandma's Doughnuts

We really liked these! The only problem we had was that when I fried them they did not cook all the way through (don't have a deep fryer so I think the oil I heated in a pan on the stove may have been too hot) so we had to bake them in the oven for 10 minutes. Other than though, they tasted great and we will be making these again! As a tip, I used the glaze from the "Crispy and Creamy Doughnuts" recipe on this site and it was awesome. Thanks for the recipe!

Savory Chicken Breasts

I liked this recipe a lot but my husband just thought it was okay. I used Stove Top instead of bread crumbs per reviewer's suggestions and husband thought it was too salty and a bit dry. Maybe I will try it again with more milk and bread crumbs instead.

Fried Potatoes

The flavor of these were good but they didn't look anything like that photos here. They weren't crispy on the outside at all, and I think it's because we didn't have a cast iron skillet; I just used a regular skillet that we had. So presentation was not so great, but it did taste good.

Simple BBQ Ribs

So easy and delicious! It's getting too cold here in Michigan to grill and this was a great alternative for us. If you're looking for some of that "outdoor barbecue flavor", try adding some liquid smoke. Thanks for the recipe, will have again!

Chicken Enchilada Casserole II

I thought this recipe was very good. The only changes I made was adding refried beans and only making half the recipe. Like some other reviewers, I think next time I will cut the sour cream, but otherwise I really liked the taste and it's very filling. Will make again. Thanks for the recipe!

Carrot Cake XI

We LOVED this recipe! Since I mince my carrots (husband doesn't like to "bite" into carrots in the cake) I used only about 2 cups "minced" carrots. Otherwise I followed this recipe exactly, and love it! Thank you for the great recipe!

Emergency Garlic Bread

We loved this! Great in a pinch, when you don't want to put a whole lot of effort into something and still have it taste good. We have spaghetti at least once a week and this was nice to have accompanying it to make dinner different for once. Thanks!

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

We loved this recipe! The potatoes and the fries came out wonderfully. I put the chicken on one baking sheet and the potatoes on the other, just in case one cooked fast than the other, plus it gave everything a little bit of extra space. We will make this again! Thanks for the recipe!

Marshmallow Fondant

This was my first attempt at fondant, and I really liked the taste and look of this recipe. I didn't realize quite how messy it was going to be though (I think by the end I had a sticky reside of confectioner's sugar on the floor, counters, and everything else I managed to touch even if it was just a little bit). Regardless, I will be making this again and again, and was amazed how professional my cookie look after I put this one them. Thanks for the recipe!

Cheesecake Bars

I have never made cheesecake before and thought I would try this recipe out because it seemed fairly easy. The texture came out a little more like a custard than I would have expected, but the taste was good. The crust stuck to the bottom of the pan the first time I tried to cut into it, but once you get the cutting started the bars come up easily. This was an okay recipe, loved more by my husband then myself, but I will be searching for a more "cheesecakey" cheesecake.

Apple Pie Bars

I followed the recipe exactly, no substitutions or anything, and I had a lot of problems with this recipe. The dough was very sticky, so when I rolled it out it ended up in pieces. Then, it seemed like I had way too much filling made, like I should have only done half as many apples, because it was overflowing when I tried to put the second piece of dough on top. It baked up okay, but it just seemed like and apple pie to me! I thought it was going to be more like a bar, but it was a flaky crust on top and bottom, with apple pie filling in the middle. And to be honest, this was not even a good apple pie taste. This was a big disappointment for me, and I will not be making this again.

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Very good! We liked the chewiness and the shape of the cookie (not flat at all, and it looks exactly like a Chips Ahoy cookie), but we slightly disappointed with the flavor. With all the sugar in these, I was surprised they weren't a little sweeter. Will make again, though may tweak the recipe a little. All in all a good cookie though! Thanks for the recipe!

Apple Pie Muffins

Delicious! My husband is usually pretty picky about what recipes I make that he wants to try, and he couldn't wait for these to come out of the oven. Followed recipe exactly, but for personal preference I think I will make the apple pieces a little smaller next time. Also, I baked for 25 minutes and was a little nervous about how brown the streusel topping looked, but it tasted great (not burnt at all). These are very sweet though, and taste like something that came out a cafe bakery (which in my opinion, deserves a 5 star review). Thank you for this recipe!

Strawberry Muffins

Wonderful! I had to use up some strawberries quick and this was the perfect recipe! Didn't have canola oil so I used vegetable oil , but otherwise followed directions exactly. I was nervous that theses would taste more "muffin" than "strawberry", but I was wrong. And other reviewers are right about how good it made the house smell while they were baking. Will make again and again! Thank you for the recipe!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Very good recipe. I used all butter (no shortening), added 1/4 nutmeg and no raisins. I liked that it stayed soft and chewy; most of the oatmeal cookie recipes I have tried the cookie gets pretty crunchy, but not this one.

Mall Pretzels

We were very disappointed in the taste; we didn't think these had any flavor to them. The only change I made was using all purpose flour for all of it because I didn't have any bread flour, but I don't think that would have changed the blandness. There is another recipe on this site called "Buttery Soft Pretzels" that are a lot more flavorful and easy to make.

Banana Cake V

Delicious! I used all purpose flour (didn't have cake flour on hand) and a 9x9 pan and it came out great! Right out of the oven it was pretty moist, but the second day it was perfect; soft and fluffy. I didn't use any glazes or frostings so it tastes a little more like a coffee cake/bread, but very good. Will have again. Thanks for the recipe!
