About this Cook
I live with my incredible husband and son. I love cooking for my family and friends most of all. My husband and son are open to any recipe I am willing to attempt. And then there are my friends. They're a few years younger than me and living on their own. Their company inspires my cooking. A lot of them have big hearts and smart brains. Sometimes a home cooked meal helps them just chill out and relax.
My favorite things to cook
Rigatoni...Beef Stew with Organic Veggies...Steak and eggs w/ cheese....Fried and Broiled Tilapia....Baked Ziti...Butter Soaked Garlic Bread (my own recipe).
My favorite family cooking traditions
Preparing Thanksgiving dinner with all the fixings! My mom and I would watch Xena/Jack of All Trades all night on local tv while making pumpkin pie, turkey, green bean casserole, stuffing, noodles, mash potatoes, and fudge. Ah, the fudge. Unfortunately my mom was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and my father has been struggling with his. So fudge is out of question for them. But we are now learning to be healthy and appreciate food for it's real taste. So now it feels like a true Thanksgiving.
My cooking triumphs
Fixing rigatoni for six of my close friends. They were all guys, including my adoring husband. We all had a little vino and played Playstation all night. Then I cooked until the sun rose. Everyone loved the "breakfast".
My cooking tragedies
Baked ziti for the first time. Too much tequila and my husband and I had bad company. Ugh...it got burned and it was disgusting.
