I am a single mom with a fourteen year old daughter. She is the world to me. I like to cook, sew, quilt and write fiction just for my own pleasure.
My favorite things to cook
Pasta because it is so versatile and fun to experiment with.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving, we always have a roast turkey, cornbread stuffing, homemade cranberry-orange sauce, sweet potatoes (baked, no marshmallows lol), mashed potatoes, green been casserole (I know, but I love it) and corn pudding. For dessert we have pumpkin pie, apple pie and ambrosia. Some of this is traditional from my family and some I have added to our personal tradition. Turkey, mashed potatoes, green bean casserole and apple pie came down to me from my mother and my sister gave us ambrosia. The rest I have picked up from other wonderful cooks I have shared Thanksgiving with throughout the years.
My cooking triumphs
I won a local contest with a chicken parmigiana ring that I invented.
My cooking tragedies
I can't think of any off hand, but I have burned my share of dishes.
