Me and the wife
About this Cook
I’m a skilled trades man. I have a wonderful wife, three children and two grandchildren. Three dogs and a cat. I love to fish, cook and eat.
My favorite things to cook
The thing I like to do best is bake. Mainly desserts. I worked in a bake shop in the Navy and this got me started and be doing it ever since.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love our family reunions. My family is mainly from the south there is always some good down home cooking to be had.
My cooking triumphs
I always get a lot request for my cinnamon rolls.
My cooking tragedies
I recently tried a Chinese slaw recipe. Still don’t know what I did wrong but it was terrible.

Chrissy's Sweet 'n' Sour Tomato Salad
Very good Very easy. I cut down on the vinger a little as we don't like things to tart and I used olive oil.

Grilled Fish Tacos with Chipotle-Lime Dressing
The marinade in this recipe is great. Like many other reviewers I cut way back on the Adobo sauce. I used only about 2 ½ Tbls. I also feel that 9 minutes on a grill at high heat is to long. My fish was done in about 5 ½ minutes on my Weber charcoal grill. I have cooked a lot of Tilapia on the grill and this usually the case.

Taqueria Style Tacos - Carne Asada
I have made theses taco’s many times and will continue to make them. I lived in the San Diego area for five years. These taco’s remind me of the taco’s I use to get at little mom and pop restaurant in Imperial Beach. My wife loves the New Mexico chili pepper sauce. After the taco’s are all gone she will eat the sauce with chips. I always cook my steak over a good hot charcoal fire.
