Janet's Rich Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 18, 2009
I've been making various banan breads for years- and this is my new favorite! (with a few changes) softened butter instead of melted, mashed banana instead of slices. a little extra vanilla, several sprinkles of cinnamin, and a tiny sprinkle of nutmeg. I dusted the oiled pan with cin/sugar mixture to give the crust some sweetness. the top does not go mushy when you store it. will use again and again. thanks.

Great! love the dressing for many different salads. This one- used walnuts instead of almonds, and added feta and chicken breast to make it a meal. Yum!

Crab-Stuffed Filet Mignon with Whiskey Peppercorn Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
for the meat we skipped all of thise prep- we sprinkled Montreal steak seasoning and wrapped in bacon and then BBQed. Made the crab mixture as described (from fresh crab legs) and served on top with sauce but had to thicken with flour . Very good - but it was lots of work

first time making pretzel's since the 6th grade and it went well. I had 7 kids under age 10 "helping" me and it was tons of fun. I followed the recipe exactly and they came out perfect and were a hit with everyone. Will do again- just by myself next time.

Grilled Salmon I

Reviewed: Jan. 7, 2009
GREAT!!!! made a few changes and loved it! Olive oil instead of vegetable added plain pepper to fish instead of kemmon pepper- then used lemon juice (1/2 fresh lemon) to liquid marinade. a little extra brown sugar and some ginger in the marinade too. We cooked on foil on the BBQ abnd then browned directly on the grill for a few minutes- it was amazing and evermy six year old ate it!!! will be a family regular!

Turtle Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I was trying to replicate a recipe I made years ago and loved. This one seemed close- but didn't come out quite right. The crust was too hard and very tough to serve, It was a lot of work so I'll probably keep searching for another great Thanksgiving desert recipte instead of this one.

AMAZING!!!! this recipe was sooo easya nd was a major hit with eveyone in my family this holiday. I recommend a small food proccessor for the cookies, and a little extra mint flavor as some already said. Makes a huge batch and they keep well in the fridge. Try it!

Alice's Sour Cream Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
I tweaked this a bit and really liked it. I left out the lemon pepper altogether and used regular pepper and tons of parsley with extra parmesan. I cooked the chicken in a skilet with olive oil and fresh garlic until almost doen then cut up and added to simmer in the sauce awhile then served over rice. Pasta would have been good too. I can't see doing any of this in the microwave though. worth trying.

Perfect Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2009
This was my first try at pumpkin pie and my whole family was very impressed this Christmas. Noone could believe that it wasn't from a bakery. I used a traditional frozen crust instead of a graham one- couldn't imagine a graham crust with pumpkin. and I think the realy secret to this recipe is the sweetened condenced milk instead of evaporated milk many recipes use. definately worth the work on this!!!!
